Who Are We? High Five is a not for profit organization devoted to developing creative education programs for minority adolescents aged 13-19 on the risks of HIV, AIDS, and other STI’s (sexually transmitted infections). By using various positive methods of entertainment, promotional events, and contests, we create a platform for local experts to share important information on preventive measures that can be taken to lower the risk of exposure to HIV, AIDS, and STI’s.
Why High Five? The name “High Five” is a slang term that is used as an alternative way to identify HIV. There is much stigma behind the disease yet many are not familiar with what the virus and other STIs (sexually transmitted infections) that are infecting millions each year. What is Our Goal?
By targeting 25 major cities with large black populations, our goal is to raise $200,000 in each community to be used to promote awareness events in those communities. This will total $5,000,000 nationwide, thus achieving our High Five Goal. How Can You Help?
